Manage Traffic Flow with Portable Traffic Signals

By Scott Lai

If you think it’s unusual to see portable traffic signals in a parking garage, it is. However, portable traffic signals can be a cost-effective solution for traffic control when performing maintenance work in your parking garage.

Learn how management of an East Oahu property managed traffic flow of a one-way ramp in a multi-level parking garage that needed to be used as a two-way ramp during a resurfacing project.

Property Managers - Need to fix potholes?

large potholeBy Scott Lai

Potholes are a problem for all drivers. But if you’re a property owner or manager, potholes can be especially costly for you. If you’ve got a pothole, you know the risks involved in leaving it untreated. Not only can potholes damage a driver’s vehicle, it can also cause injury to the driver. If this happens, expect higher insurance premiums! You also need to think about your image as an owner/manager. If you leave potholes untreated, you’re sending a very public message that you’re not proactive in maintaining a property.

STOP SignBy Scott Lai

You might have had a couple of close calls on your property, or even received complaints from tenants/employees about speeding in your parking lot. Installing a STOP sign is a good first step to reduce speeding. But it’s very easy for a speeding motorist to completely ignore a STOP sign and drive through. If your STOP sign is being ignored, it may be time to take an aggressive approach to reduce speeding in your parking lot.

When To Use Speed Bumps & Speed Humps

By Scott Lai

speed bumps vs speed humpsBoth speed bumps and speed humps are used to reduce vehicle speeds in parking lots and garages. However, each is designed for a specific purpose. If your goal is to slow vehicles to a halt, you want a speed bump. On the other hand, if you simply want to slow vehciels but allow continuous traffic flow, you'd want to install a speed hump.
